Oahu Powerless

We were in the dark for a few hours Friday night. A rare electrical storm lighted up our skies for quite a while in the afternoon. Then at 6:25 PM our lights flickered with a power surge where 90% of the island lost power. We were blissfully unaware of other's plight until at 8:30 PM our power went out. When we checked the radio we found that our area is on Grid ONE (last off, first on! yay.) So at 3 AM our power came back. Though there were still many without power until noon.
It was a welcome wake up call for emergency preparedness for our family. Not to mention, what do we do when we can't watch T.V. or blog!? The whole experience turned out to be a lot of fun, each of the children had a flashlight and we had a few candles burning that made everything smell really nice. Clesson and the children played Pokemon cards and Gabriel jumped out and spooked Izack really good. Laughter was everywhere.
Honestly, I can't complain.
Then this morning Clesson realized that though we have power, cable was still out . . . .until noon and now the football bowl games are on and I'm blogging again.

Merry Christmas!
There were thoughtful presents for the children from:
Aunty Johanna
*Currently they are tucked in their bed with these. . .
Aunty Amber
*They immediately had lunch on these. . .
Aunty Jenny Rose
*Running around being a superhero can sure wear them out. . .(thank you!!)
Our beautiful quilt from Jenny. WOW!! Thank you so much!
And the children just loved all the gifts from Grandfather and Gran:
We take turns, starting with the youngest, opening presents.
Looking closely, Gabriel can be seen with his head hung down low stating, "I wanted that for Christmas."
Which thrilled Kaleb to no end!
Izack loved the trick played on him with the wrapping of his Nintendo DS game. To throw him off of what was inside - it was wrapped, placed in a box, wrapped, then placed in a bigger box that was wrapped. He got a good laugh out of that.
Then the reaction when he realized what it actually was . . . PRICELESS!
Here Cloe is using her camera from Santa to take a picture of Grammy and Papa in the kitchen.
This interactive rocking horse was given to Kaleb from Grammy and Papa. (Papa told of how he carried it through Costco, then stood in line holding it. A lady offered if he'd like to put his horse on her cart while waiting in line. Well, you just don't get an offer like that every day! Ah, the Christmas spirit.)
Once Kaleb got the hang of rocking, he could be heard galloping through the whole house.
We hope all we know and love had a very Merry Christmas, too!

Christmas 2008
An email to the Lemmons family about our family interests, and well, *sizes* for Christmas 2008.
Hey all!
the Paet Children Christmas List:
They are all into playing Legos and playing on the Wii. They also love to role play as Super Heroes.
Izack: Favorite color is blue. Hobbies are baseball, cub scouts, and Kenpo(it's like karate/kung fu). Loves his Nintendo DS, PokeMon and legos He's a size 8 shorts and Medium shirts.
Cloe: Favorite colors are pink, purple or red. She's a size 8 shorts, skirts, or dresses and wears a Medium shirt. Loves girly things the more shiny or sparkly the better, and would like a puppy. (HA HA HA!!! not a chance.) Hobbies: Hula dancing, piano playing, reading - She's read a few of the Rainbow Fairy Series by Daisy Meadows and doesn't own any of those books yet.
She's also missing her two front teeth. ;-)
Gabriel: Favorite color is green. Size 6 shorts and size small shirts. Hobbies: Soccer and Kenpo. Loves Legos, Monkeys/Gorillas and drawing
Kaleb: Favorite colors are green, orange or yellow. Size 2 shorts or size 3 x-small shirts. He's a big fan of Dora the Explorer and Go! Diego Go! and Thomas the Tank Engine - specifically Percy the train. He would be thrilled with trains for Christmas.
And just for fun and future reference:
Clesson wears a size XXL shirt and looks great in black and blue (take that as you will. ha ha). He's wonderful at spending time with the children practicing their hobbies. His favorite sports teams are: Kansas City Chiefs(football), Orlando Magic (basketball) and Florida State, BYU or University of Hawaii for College Football. He loves sports related stuff but don't get him books.
Joy wears a size large shirt. I love the color cobalt blue on just about anything but I look better wearing green or coral pinks. ;-) Don't get me anything sports related but I love books.
If you get me a cobalt blue shirt listing my favorite phrases from Twilight I will squeal until I pass out.
Please email me back or call if you have any questions. I love you all so much and look forward to perusing your Christmas lists as well.
